Wrong or right?

It is so much easier to find the wrong in anything or anyone than it is to find the right. Some have made “finding the wrong” an active way of living. It’s like the old game “Where’s Waldo”, but replacing “Waldo” with “Wrong.” If left unchallenged, pretty soon all they see is “Wrong” in their own world, and the world of others with whom they have regular contact. Worse yet, these people express their thoughts about all that is wrong to others, making them miserable as well. I am finding myself feeling depressed just writing these words.
I wonder what would happen if we exchanged the word “Wrong” with “Right?” Genuine leaders do just that! That know they cannot stop birds from flying over their heads, but they can certainly keep them from nesting there. These leaders know “Wrongs” exist, but they don’t dwell on them. In other words, they will not allow thoughts about “Wrongs” to nest in their minds, but they welcome thoughts about “Right” to dwell there. Doing this literally changes everything about how they view people and potential. It is transforming!
I know this one leader who would regularly go up to an individual and ask this question, “Did anyone tell you today what’s ‘Right’ about you?” The person answered with a “no.” So, the leader began telling that person a few things he consistently saw him doing right. Pretty soon others picked up on that leaders practice and they, too, started looking for “Right” everywhere. What’s even more amazing is they began finding it.
Simply by changing the question from “What’s Wrong” to “What’s Right”, this leader changed the entire environment. Guess you could say he was the right leader, in the right place, at the right time, looking for right stuff all the time! How about you?
